Day 1: Scenic Road Transfer from Entebbe/Kampala to Kibale Forest National Park
Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport or pick-up from your hotel in Kampala, your journey begins with a scenic road transfer to Kibale Forest National Park. The drive is approximately 5-6 hours, winding through Uganda’s beautiful countryside, tea plantations, and small towns. You will pass through Fort Portal, a charming town nestled in the shadows of the Rwenzori Mountains, where you will stop for lunch.
Upon reaching Kibale Forest, you’ll check into your lodge, located on the edge of the park. The park is home to the largest concentration of primates in Uganda, including chimpanzees, L’Hoest’s monkeys, and many more. Take some time in the evening to relax, enjoy the fresh forest air, and prepare for the chimpanzee tracking adventure the next day.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest and Afternoon Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Evening Game Drive
After an early breakfast, you’ll head out for an exciting chimpanzee tracking experience in Kibale Forest. Your day begins with a briefing from the rangers at the park headquarters, where you will learn about the forest, the behavior of the chimpanzees, and what to expect during the trek.
Accompanied by experienced 5-Day Uganda Wildlife & Chimpanzee Tracking Safari guides, you’ll walk through the lush forest, listening for the calls of chimpanzees. Start with an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, an area known for its high concentration of Uganda kobs, which attract predators such as lions and leopards.
